The Church was not made to be static in this world, but rather to impact it by revealing the fullness of God and his glory. The mark of true discipleship in a church is the movement to send people to where they have been called to bear witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We encourage our members to invite their unbelieving friends, coworkers, and family to hear and experience the gospel of Christ through our community. We send short term mission teams so our members can gain a greater vision for this world. We send full time missionaries and partner with other missions agencies so that they can do the work effectively as they have been called.

New Community Church pursues to be a church that obeys the Great Commission of Jesus Christ conveyed in Matthew 28:19-21: “19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” We believe missions is not merely a call to the “few,” but a call to the whole Church, where each individual lives mindful of Christ’s Great Commission. Because of this, the primary thrust of our mission is to mature disciples of Jesus Christ, sending them to where they are called, and thus letting the world know the full riches of God’s grace. Our mission is to the people in our immediate locale, in the greater city of Chicago and its suburbs, and to the global community around the world. Knowing we are not alone in this pursuit, we also partner with other Christian churches and organizations so we can make a greater impact in this world for Christ.
